More Paradise in Cancun

I’m not sure if I mentioned one of the reasons Larry and I decided to spend our  Honeymoon in Cancun was because at a travel expo I actually won a free 4-day, 3-night stay at the all-inclusive Gran Caribe Real Resort. So we simply used that excuse to spend a few extra days in Cancun.hotel sign

Since it was August and vacation time for locals there were plenty of kids to enjoy this all-inclusive resort. And it is a children’s haven.

Even the pool was full of activities for both adults and children, and the music is always at a full-time loud. It’s all kids slide areaabout folks having a good time with their families. However, we decided to explore a bit and found the Hyatt next door a bit more to the “adult” liking for quiet time. In this photo you can see not only the decorative sculptures are a highlight, but also the privacy of certain cabanas. At this resort it is a definite PLUS to be staying at the resort. As we were only guests, we found NO beach chairs and few places to sit on the grounds that were not occupied by Hyatt guests.

We were, however, allowed to eat in some of the restaurants and found them rather intriguing and very picturesque.

ThHands over heartsis particular one was very relaxed and we found it casual in the early dinner hours with staff friendly and fun. One of the other amazing cultural exchanges was in asking why the people of the region often greet each other by crossing their hand across their heart. It was learned this means “with our heart we welcome your heart” so we welcomed the opportunity to use the same gesture often.

I can honestly say this is what we love so much about travel. We open our hearts to others’ ways of living and exchanging and warm togetherness in a foreign land. The Mayan culture is certainly warm and welcoming …. For sure! Bed

Back to the Gran Caribe, we managed to be spoiled in many ways. Not only did they upgrade us to a Superior quality suite, but also lavished such things as this hot-tub-bath in the room and private bar to boot. Now that’s stylin’ for sure! Perhaps now you can see why we love our occupation so much!Bath

Of course the suite comes with the cabana so we also had to try that out. It was a first on this trip so we continued to lap it up. A private server came by occasionally to take drink ordersFeet so of course we didn’t want to disappoint him! After all it was our honeymoon! Why not?

Let’s just say we never got hungry OR thirsty while spending time in Cancun! Highly recommend the entire experience.

Then as they say, all good things must come to an end. And so it goes. Please know if you want to experience a big bang for the buck, you may want to consider Cancun.

For now, may God Bless you and all YOUR precious memories of life and times on this Mother Earth while we are here. We feel blessed indeed to have spent such moments by the sea and the sand.

Sometimes cruising takes a back seat…. As we will continue to see as we move on to SANDALS resorts in the next BLOG.

Meanwhile, may all your dreams come true and ALL your sunsets be as beautiful as our last in Cancun, Mexico.
